So i just finished removing my ac condenser pump and all the hoses and what not.
What can i use to plug up those holes in the fire wall where the pipe came off, also do i need to plug that plug back into where that plug was. and also let me know if im missing anything else or anything else i need to do.
-
plug that plug?
if its the one on the condenser i cunt mine and capped it off with some heat shrink.
for the ac lines on the firewall i got some plugs at autozone and capped mine off
-
ok so i can just cut that plug off
-
i did...i have no plan of it going back on...
-
ok and did you remove the part of the a/c that was in the cab of the car ? i dont plan on removing that of shear laziness
-
when i remove my dash to paint it. i plan on taking out everything i do not want or need. All the air bag crap will come out then too i think. perfect time to replace the steering wheel then
-
i painted my dash but it was o hard to remove everything so i just taped and covered everything and it turned out great... when you replace the steering wheel let me know how you did that because i am dying to replace mine but everyone says its hard hard hard. let me know how it all goes.
-
i painted my dash

i got so many things going through my head on the car. i need to sit down and make some kind of plan, #1 is my AEM truboost gauge/controller. so all the other things are on hold
-
you can see pics in my pics thread !! just got out the dryer tpart of the a/c and finally done removing everything !! now to put things back together !! pics tomorrow !!
-
when taking out the a/c will that effect the engine light to turn on ?
-
when taking out the a/c will that effect the check engine light to turn on ?
-
nope not on mine.....i get a check engine light every now and again but i got it before i removed the ac and i get it when i feel the engine wobble every now and again.
-
so now tthat the ac is removed i was wondering do i need that box that is connected to the dryer/receiver behind the glovebox. also the wires that plugged into that box and the wires that pluged into the condenser and fan can i cut those wires and the cu the plug off that plugs into the dash ? or how can i remove all that wireing so its out of the way.
-
You can take it out but you need the piece that connects the blower box to the duct work/vents. Find a Capri in a wrecking yard with no a/c and grab it...or maybe even a BF series 323.

i just too the dryer/receiver out took the parts out of the box and put the box back... there was a small box attached to the receiver that plugs in ... do i need that ?
-
bump
-
i do nto see the need if it was the one to the blower. i just got back with your pipe. too late to get to the post office so i will have to get it out monday. i will send pics of it later
-
The box im talking about was on the reciever it sais nd nippondenso... i took out the ac do i need that ?
-
What exactly is your problem? I removed all the A/C equipment from the engine bay including the relays and wire harness. I did not touch anything under the dash.
-
well under the dash there is a Box that was connected to the evaporator that sais nippondenso on it and it goes to part of the wiring from outside and i was wondering if i need that box ... from my manual it looks like it is the a/c control amp. and if i can remove this i can cut the wires that go from the outside engine bay to the cabin connecting this box.
-
and how did you remove the wire harness and relays cut ? or do they all come out somehow cleanly.
-
i say as long as it is A/C only and does not use it for the heater...remove it
i plan on taking out all the extra stuff in the engine bay when i paint/replace my engine and plan on all the crap inside when i remove the dash to paint it.
you are ahead of me on that one
-
let me know what useless stuf you take out of the engine bay so i can do the same lol
