Power Door Lock Relay Update
« on: November 18, 2012, 05:21:00 PM »

Since my last post I obtained the relay for the power locks on my '92 Capri N/A.  I plugged it in to the proper location on the relay panel and still my locks would not work.  I later discovered that there were no wires on the back of the relay panel where it plugs in.  This is puzzling as there is a fuse and all other components of the system are connected.  I hope someone can solve this mystery.

Power Door Lock Relay Update

Both my 92 and 93 electrical books show the fuse position marked 'door locks 30 amp', but describes the circuit as 'not used'.  Apparently when they discontinued the door locks in the 92 and 93 models, they didn't change the lid markings, just left out the wiring to make them work.  Just run an in-line fuse at 30 amps to an always hot circuit, like the white/red wire going to the light switch...that's sourced by a 60 amp under the hood fuse, so should work OK...Chris
