Sharp Left Turn Knock
« on: March 26, 2012, 12:26:00 PM »

When I take a sharp left turn I heard a knock on the right front side.
I thought my tires were hitting my front skirt so I trim it down.
I realized that wasn't it.
What could it be?
Hopefully something cheap.

ok, i had time to actually look and compare to the driver side.
I went to local O'reily and they couldn't pull up the parts, she told me it was swaybar...something I forgot... I had her pull up parts for 323 and available but I think she did it on '91.
My question is, this part, is it compatible with the 323?

That's a swaybar endlink. Yours is busted. You can order them for the Capri if you go to a competent parts store.

Ah, it appears your sway bar link bolt has broken. That is very common. Russ at roo-sport has OEM replacements. Here's a link for you...

cool thanks for the info.

competent parts store? sorry, walk by me again, what that mean?

Russ selling as a set, does he means 2 or 4.  I'm looking at a website right now for set of 4 same price, but universal not oem.

I really would like to know if mazda 323 would fit, since closest to me doesn't have for capri.

I don't want to wait and commute with my truck if I dont have to.

They are usually sold in sets of 2. You can pick up universal ones at just about any parts store. I have the part number for the Energy Suspension ones on this forum, just search for sway bar end links. Not sure if the ones for the 323 will fit, never tried them.

Recieved and installed.

Hey Russ, I noticed the center part was twice longer than the one on it originally. I didn't have to cut it down to size do I as long as I can install it?  Also, I just replaced the broken one, will it be an issue if I don't replace the other good one?

Hey Captain...You'll want to go ahead and install the other one. Since the spacer is a different length on the ones you got from Russ, you will want the same size on the other side as well. And no, you don't need to worry about cutting it down to match the old one.

Hope that helps!!

Please be careful with them, jack up the control arm as well when trying to remove them to take off some of the tension. I seriously injured my thumb once when trying to rush through a replacement.

Tony's right - replace them both.
