My parking brake light is stuck on... any idea why?

there is a switch on the brake pedal. it more than likely is shorted out..

There's a switch on the e-brake handle under the console. It could have a bad connection or is disconnected. Pull off the rear console you'll see it

That same light connects to the brake master cylinder to indicate low fluid or a system malfunction.  Check your fluid and look for leaks around the wheels...

Thanks for the post blueamber It was in fact because of a leaky brake line at the banjo bolt on the front caliper.

Damn, I'm starting to get the hang of diagnosing these cars...just wish I could get a handle on weird engine issues, like my sometimes high idle, sometimes normal idle...peace...Chris
