Here in phoenix mine in the summer was between 175 and 200....Winter never went over 160

I had a FMIC but i removed all the AC stuff. By removing the condenser it helped the cooling a lot. Adding the FMIC will restrict the airflow.

I also had my fans wired so that they was always on.

Stock radiator as well.....

Too bad your not close. I got a B6T sitting here

OEM thermostat is 195, stock temp gauge usually indicates it runs around that.

I'd suspect something is awry with your cooling system, could you give us details of how/when the car overheated?

I'd suspect a clogged radiator, or a bad water pump...or even driving on a snapped alternator belt- details will help

What temp is an xr2's spouse to run at?  First off I guess the first question is; Is the XR2's spouse male or female?  Females seem to run hotter than males.  I don't think I want to know how they consumated their relationship.

it first started overheating when a belt broke. Then later i got p.o. at my gf and was running 100 down I-30. and after that everytime i stopped you could see it smoking a little bit, oh and all this was in the summer.. then it started gettin oil in the water... now that i fixed it, i also got a new turbo and im rapping the exhuast to keep it from heating up the engine bay and i want to take the a/c but not sure what i need to take out or how.

Thats the problem...the alternator & water pump run on the same belt...if that snaps you'll overheat real quick.

Won't need to wrap the manifold unless you want to, or even remove the AC - it won't happen again if you keep the belt in good condition and tensioned properly. If you notice the charge light come on it'd be a good idea to pull over and check the belt...also if its starting to overheat don't keep driving it!
