Title: Stroker kit?
Post by: bratboy_y2k on June 29, 2019, 07:45:05 PM
Do stroker kits exist? Or is there a setup to increase cubes?

A BP is an instant increase and Miata internals fit our B6.

The B6 in our Capri’s is essentially a stroked out 1.3L block and the spacing between the cylinders is too small to overbore any further.

If you’re looking for more displacement, go with the 1.8L BP like me and a few others have done.

The BP has 2 stroker kits available, 1 for 2.0L from Flyin Miata, and another for 2.2L from Maruha Racing IIRC. Both are around 2-4grand. The perfomance increase is around 60hp for a stock motor and much more for a boosted application with supporting mods/ecu and such. Ive looked deeply into it and the Flyin Miata one from what ive hheard/seen is the most reliable as it uses H-Beam rods and forged pistons with many different compression ratios based on needs.

There was a 1.6L stroker kit back in the day but it was stupid expensive.
It's far better to swap to BP, it's a better platform to start with. There was a BP stroker kit too but again stupid expensive
