intake manifold gasket(S)

got my gasket in the mail today and it came in 2 pieces ... a cardboard one with orange rubber type around the ports and then a metal one with a raised edge around the ports ... where do both go ?

curious is the matel one just to protect that gasket because the one with the orange rubber around it is it...

called up rockauto who i bought from ... they said its a new design ... its a two part gasket thats not together the metal one goes to the block to help protect the paper one from heat ect. makes sense i guess

i see the point there but then i see two gaskets that a leaking chance if you ask me lol

its like a double layer gasket ... our exhaust manifold gasket is 4 or 5 layers if i am correct to help with heat issues.
