Title: Bored out throttle body
Post by: Heavensheros on July 01, 2009, 12:19:00 PM
So i am looking to get the new intercooler off of ebay and i will be doing a full metal piping kit all the way to the throttle body and was also thinking how hard it would be to bore out the throttle body and or does anyone have one bored out for sale.

I have an intake manifold modded to accept a 65mm mustang throttlebody along with a mustang TB modified to work with the capri throttle linkage

its like a 3" inlet, you'll need to get a little creative with pipe, it just barely clears the valvecover but some grinding an a silicone adapter will make it work

So you're going from a 52mm TB (2inch) to a 65mm tb (2.5) I've run some math and it its got 30% larger cross sectional area which is going to mean a berzerk increase in flow

Let me know if you're interested in it

the outside diameter uses a 2.5" coupler yes. The inside tapers from a 2.1" opening down to 2" bore where the blade is located.

The 65mm TB uses a 3" coupler and is 2.5" bore diameter

I'm not sure how hard it will be to swap, its usually a pretty good afternoon to swap a manifold. Theres a real tricky support under it that most people dont know about / forget

Are you going to the meet? I might be able to cram it in my capri somewhere
