hey guys, for advanced tuners of the 91-94 capri and xr2 ..
 that know what the hell im talking about..

MEGASQUIRT DIY ecu (a company specializing in kits to build your own ecu) has anounced the denso 52 pin PNP kit for the 86-89 323 and 91-94 capri and xr2!!! meaning we now can  build a megasquirt ECU for our cars that comes with a plug to use our stock ecu harness...

for arround 400.00 you can build a fully tunable ecu allowing you to run wonderous things like MAP based ... no more flapper MAF...
and coil on plug ignition fired from the ECU ... no more coil and distributer...

It should be noted that these are not true "plug and play" but close enough. They replicated the stock plugs from our ECU (used on a bunch of cars) and you'll still need to do some internal wiring to make everything peachy. You will also need to add some wires and sensors, especially if you want to get rid of the VAF.

Adding the crank sensor is probably the hardest part I would assume?

Crank sensor is not necessary, you can use the stock dizzy's sensor. Advanced ignition control (like DIS w/ coilpacks) will need a CAS or a crank sensor

id imagine you could, for tuning and datalogging purposes... but why

yea megasquirt offers a pc link to hook up datalogging, with the extra board space you would have to build the ecu to work with a program..

theese are basicly build to suit ecus with capabilitys to build whatever your heart desires...

you could probably get it to transform into a guardian robot to keep in your dads garage incase the deceptacons return, if you really wanted...LOL

 no but really a laptop in a car may freak out a civic or neon owner.. but the first time a well built camaro sees it hes gonna bust your ass and be fallowing you home just to ask you if your fast and furious...

laptop for tuning is different than carputer ... carputer will be a 8inch touchscreen in place of radio to control possibly megasquirt, have datalog and also run radio and dvd, gps and other functions IE Car Computer - carputer ... would look a new car with a gps system not a fast and furious laptop lawl
