ok, the white switch is towards the firewall. shoving my head further up shows the two switches you guys are talking about are on the metal plate under the steering wheel. ya, looks like I'm the culprit of switch in hole disease, too. I have these round rubber feet we got from something I never used... gonna stick one of those on. With any luck, that's all it is. :) Brake switch was okay, clutch wasn't.

You guys are awesome!  I'll update if it fixed.

Of course I got lazy and didn't clean the rust off the pedal before sticking the pad on... So it's probably going to fall off, but at least I know when it quits why it did.  :)

Yeah, I think that did it! Whoo woo! gotta love simple fixes.

I still think the hole was a dealer requested feature... so they can charge for tsr cruise, replace a $700 module, etc, when they prob just used duct tape to cover the hole.

Lol, glad it's fixed. I've seen all kinds of weird cruise switch configurations and this is one of them. I forget one of my older cars I think was an Escort had a chain between the clutch and brake pedal and one switch in between. I haven't seen one of them since.

But you're right they design to make money. Just like special tools.

Hey JJ, I used some JB Weld putty and just sealed up the hole.  You'll never have to work about it again!
