VJ11 or 14 exhaust dump?
« on: March 16, 2011, 06:11:00 AM »

On doing a hybrid do I go with the original exhaust dump for the down pipe or do I need to go find one for the Probe turbo I got on eBay?

If you are doing the 14/11 hybrid, then you are retaining the VJ14 turbine housing and thusly the 14's turbo dump. (stock)

If you are swapping in a full VJ11 or a 11/tbird hybrid, you are using the VJ11 turbine housing and will need the VJ11 dump pipe.

Got it, & a corksport downpipe 2 1/2" will bolt right on? If so which one? I'm doing the 14/11 hybrid from a Probe- little bit to get it done though. Found a good rebuilder here in Colo.

Think I found the downpipe- man $275.00 w/shipping ! I think I'll work on my own & probably get around any possible oil pan & air conditioning problems too.

You can use the stock downpipe from your car if you don't feel like  getting the CS piece. But the CS piece is *reall* nice.

Thanks Matt but a little too nice for this car. If I find a 94 I'm pulling most everything back off. My brother welds, problem is getting him to get to it. Good thing is he's broke!

Talk to "FastivaB6TG25MR"

He makes 2.5" turbine outlets for the VJ14. $110 shipped. Not the most glamorous but way way way better than stock.

^^that too, I forgot he makes those.

You could also get a cast dump pipe from a BPT motor, for a VJ20. it has the same turbo side flange. its much wider inside and will flow a ton better. Josh is running one.

They're a little harder to come by but go for around $50-60 shipped on Clubprotege - You'll still need to fab the rest of the downpipe & possibly fab a flange to connect it to the dump - but its a nice easy 90* bend.

Here's the VJ20 dump & downpipe I made on my BP+T
