So I am wondering if a VJ 11 will bolt up to my xr2. How different are the oil/coolant lines etc. Would I see more power or just more lag? 2nd question,are the rebuild kits that I see on EBAY for VJ 1 - VJ 22 ok for a vj 14? Thanks Rocky

The Vj11 will bolt up to the manifold but you will have to fab up some water lines as they are different on the VJ14. You will see more lag with the larger turbine housing. Best to hybrid the 2 together though. You want a rebuild kit for an RHB5 series IHI turbo. Best to let a turbo shop do the rebuild as it will need balanced and then you will have a warranty.

Thanks Clay. If I get a used VJ 11 to make my hybrid will I need two diff rebuild kits or will one do it since they are same series? Rocky

just 1...you only need the compressor housing and wheel from the VJ11...not the whole thing. Are you going to rebuild it yourself???

NOOOOOOO! I have a pro in the town next to me. Rebuilt turbos in the navy, has the biggest auto repair/tow truck opperation in the area. Says he has been a TURBO NUT since the age of 16. I have a 2 1/4 exhaust cat back, no muffler. Will that cut back on the lag some if I just go with the VJ 11? I hear you can boost 18 lbs with a good one! What do you think. Rocky

So I know where I can get a good used VJ 11, but it will cost me 150 bucks or better. Anybody have the parts I need of a VJ 11 for less than that? Rocky

ONE LAST TIME- does any body have a good used vj 11 or the parts I need off one? If my vj 14 is not rebuildable I might wind up going with the vj 11, lag and all. It is not easy to find these things. Thanks Rocky
