found a nice 1.5" to 3" reducer
« on: August 30, 2009, 02:19:00 PM »

I was looking for a way to get a nice smooth 1.5" to 3" transistion into the turbo without any bends.

The stock plastic pipe is way to small as we all know and has to many bends which is not good for flow. Trying to find a reducer that bends up like the factory j-pipe would be pointless for flow.

I am going to try this with a small 45 degree section connected to the maf facing up towards the driver side fender. From there it will go to a HKS maf adapter. That would be a very straight and unrestricted path for airflow with no bottle necks and smooth transisiton's for flow.

any thoughts?

I didnt see a 1.5" to 3" reducer on their website.

Biggest I seen was a 1.5" to 2.5" reducer.

Do you have a link by chance?

sorry, i went up to 2.5 pipe. then used a 2.5-3.0 at the VAF

i do not think you are going to find a hose that makes that much of a change. The VAF is actually a tiny bit bigger then a 3.0 but you can make it fit with some tuff love.

i went with the.....
1.5-2.5 reducer
60deg bend
2.5-3.0 to the VAF
shorty air filter

thanks for the pics sir!

I think I am going to just go with the reducer that I posted above. This way there is just one reducer and then be done with it.

I am going to buy it tonight and get you fella's some pics of the install.
