Blue smoke first start after sitting a while
« on: February 14, 2012, 06:00:00 PM »

A while is several hours.  I know that it is oil, but is it more like to be the valve guides, rings or something else.  I would expect that if it were the rings it would pretty much smoke all the time.

Any thoughts?

Rings would smoke all the time and you'd show low compression on a compression test.

Valvestem seals would be the likely culprit.

What should the compression be?
