How To Re-Allign Pop-Up Headlights
« on: February 21, 2016, 03:09:44 PM »

Hi guys my right pop up light needs to be a realligned, im not talking about the actual light. its the frame assembly that needs to be moved. How do i go about doing this because the headlight is scratching my paint whenever it goes up, and it looks terrible. Picture of headlight down bellow.

There are four bolts that hold the headlight cover to the headlight assembly. Pop the hood then raise the lights and you will see where they are very easily. Loosen the bolts just enough that the cover can be moved around a little bit, then drop the lights and the hood. Adjust by hand until they're in a good spot, then raise the hood and lights again and tighten the bolts.

Ah right, I forgot about that...the black trim pieces held on by those plastic phillips-head screws need to come off to expose the mounting points for the headlight covers. Sorry. Been a while since I last took 'em apart. :)

I had a similar issue with my driver side light, although it wasn’t as bad as yours.
I just took the black plastic shroud off to get access to the 4 screws that held the top cover on and used washers to shim the cover straight.

Okay guys followed how you guys told me, getting everything off was easy peasy this is going to take awhile to sort out. I can't find the space to put the washers behind the mount because i dint want to bend the metal on the cover. My car has been in two accidents one by Original owner and another more serioud in Virginia by a mechanic who was the owner two owners prior to me, Im completly fixing the damage from the accident right now. The second accident was on the drivers hand side and had pushed in my Valance and made a huge dent in the front bumper. Do you guys think that could be part to blame? Pictures of the process bellow

Bump with finished result above. The picture was taken before I had finished body work.
