Thanks Rocket for the info. I have found that the BP "G" series tranny has some major differences than the Capri "G" series tranny. The bp trans bolts up to the 1.6L block perfectly using the bp shim plate. The capri starter bolts up fine, and the bp slave cylinder attaches to the stock n/a capri hydraulics with just a slight tweek of the line. I installed a fidanza aluminum flywheel and matching new clutch kit with no problems. A driver's side capri turbo axle installed with no problem but the passenger side axle hole is in a different location than the capri's. Neither the 1.8L or 1.6L jack shaft would bolt up to the 1.6L block when installed. I tried to retrofit several other long axles using protege,mx-3,escort,etc.. but have yet to find anything that works with the 24 spline hubs on the capri. I'm thinking of changing the hubs to 26 spline escort/tracer and using a 1.6L mx-3 rh axle which is 36" compressed. This would allow for the use of stock escort rotors (10.25") and eliminate my nagging wheel bearing problem. I already have dual pattern wheels. I will also have to figure out a way to fabricate new trans/crossmember mounts to sit the engine back level. Anyways, sorry this post is long but I thought I would share my experience on this so others don't make the same mistakes. If I find a solution and can make this idea work I'll make sure you guys are the first to know. Thanks everyone!
