There has been a little interest in a second major Capri gathering. I know Illinois is a long drive for a lot of people (800 miles for me), perhaps a gathering a little closer may be of more interest to some people. I was thinking about a small gathering this fall around my area. I live in the scenic Pocono mountains in eastern Pennsylvania. Things get really nice here in the fall when the leaves start to turn...so I was thinking perhaps one weekend in October. I know several scenic routes around the area. It would be really awesome to have 10 or 20 capri's all single file, tops down, going down the road in the beautiful fall weather!

Anyone else interested in a Northeast meet this fall? It fell thru last year because of lack of support.

Is this in addition to the one that is being planned in NY? Rick and I are interested in making one of the trips.... don't know if we can do both. Indiana is alot closer to PA than NY... Would prefer driving to PA! Please let me know... Thanks!

This was something I was trying to plan either last year or the year before...( '05)
Maybe in the future I will have time to plan a little get-together, but I am extremely busy with work and my other projects right now.
Right now I'll be attending the sept 30th meet, so I'll see you there if you are attending!

Matt and others that are attending the Northeast gathering the end of this month-
I just registered Rick and I for the gathering.... Looking forward to seeing those Capri's on the East Coast....
Hopefully the weather will hold out so we can drive the cars in with the tops down....

I hope all have a fun and safe drive and event! I envy you Easterners. Seems like someone here or there is creating a gathering. I may look into the Knotts Berry Farm Gathering for all Ford products next spring! It's a large show that brings in hundreds of cars from west of the Missippi. Again enjoy all! Gus

Here is the current plan:
Meet between 11:00 and 11:30 at the Rhinebeck Grille & Cantina (6417
Montgomery St in Rhinebeck). Group can have lunch; kick tires, talk car
stuff till 1:00 or so, then drive to the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome for the
airshow which starts at 2:00. After that, we can see what everyone wants to
do.
This is all based on my own ideas, since I received input from no one. I
did ask for it though. I'm hesitant to have a gathering time earlier
because some of us (myself included) are driving several hours to get there.
The same reason limits how long gathering lasts as well. I still welcome
any input or ideas, but I'd need to hear them pretty quickly to make sure
that everyone else agrees and knows...

Due to illness.... Rick nor I will be able to make it this weekend to the gathering in NY with two of our Capri's. I was truly looking forward to another outing...but it is not meant to be this year.... We will have to try again next year.... Let us know how it goes....

We had rather low attendance (3 capris, one 323GTX, one (323 owner) lotus elise, and a capri owner without a capri) compared to what the attendance sounded like.
The restaurant we were supposed to meet at was apparently closed for renovation, so we hung out front in Rhinebeck for awhile and gearheaded.
It was an absolutely gorgeous day, the sun was out all morning and some light clouds for the show at the Aerodrome.
The short cruise to the aerodrome was fun, the airshow was entertaining. The weather was perfect for it.
I forgot my camera ('DOH!) but I am supposed to get some pictures at some point. I will post them as they become available.
I would love to do this again sometime (with an open restaurant!) I had a ton of fun and it was great to finally meet some Capri owners, the tech discussion was great. There is talk of planning a meet for next year as well, it would be great to have more people!

Scranton isn't not too far away - it'd be great if you could attend this year. Last two years have been an absolute blast!

I'm expecting quite a few cars this year, there are many more local people that know about it now that we're hitting our 3rd year! It will be a blast!
