Help w/ Fuel Line options.

i want to replace a [rusty] failing rigid fuel line from under the hood to the rear, spliced about 1 foot in front of the rear wheel.
steel is not an option.
-- copper nickel is nice and easy, but I don't know the precise size i need to buy.
-- should i consider a non-metal tubing?

i went with steel 5/16 on fuel line.

sorry for the lack of detail -- i'm always in a rush.
i only had to jack-up the driver side and removed my battery for replacing my brake lines and fuel line -- i was amazed i could re-utilize the little hole where my 3 fuel lines and 2 brake lines squeeze through.
i didn't have to invent a new route for any line.
3/16 COPPER NICKEL brake lines were the big win, here. after i replaced those, i had the confidence to route and manipulate the more-difficult 5/16 STEEL fuel line.
i should have taken some pics, but i may be in my car again, next weekend.
