OK guys, let's get this years Midwest Capri Rally going. The meet will be in KC, MO. I have heard at least 5-6 guys already coming. I will be staying at the Holiday Inn that is close to Worlds of Fun if anybody else wants to stay there. We should probably be able to get a group discount if so. Maybe we can have shirts made up too, I heard something about buttons somewhere else, we'll we have to out do that! (http://tongue.gif) (http://smile.gif) j/k

Aight it is now "next year" and we need to start planning because if anybody else is like me, you will procrastinate planning for anything (http://smile.gif) We are shooting for the end of June for the meet again. I think maybe we need to go out for lunch and possibly head over to Worlds of Fun for the afternoon. Last time I was up there, I saw two Capri's in the parking lot, top down, and one had a custom leather job done. Puuuurrty....Anyway, just a heads up for anybody around that area. I'm in Omaha, NE so if you are north of me and want to meet in Omaha and then head down there that will be fine too. I will be taking both my Capris hopefully if my Father wants to drive my silver one. FYI.

When you guys get a date and place nailed down for sure, be sure to post it. I may be willing to show up with (maybe) 2 of our Capris, if we can find a decent hotel nearby!

Hey Russ-
Me and my fiance Sara stayed at the Holiday Inn by Worlds of Fun. Great hotel of course, mosy Holiday Inns are. I guess it would be kind of nice if at least a few of us were at the same hotel for meeting reasons. Plus then if we decide to go to W of F then we'd be like .5 mile from there. Exact place and time are being thrown around so send any input to me or post it here for everyone to see. Last year about 5 of us showed up. Which was more than I thought would. I'm guessing this year to be even bigger and better. See ya.

Just wanted to get this fresh in everyone's minds. This will come up fast. Try and make your plans now. The date will be tentatively June 26-27th 2004. Any ideas are always open.

How far is this place from michigan? I want to go, but I'm not sure if I want to drive that far. I'm about 3-4 hours from Chicago.

The last meet was in KC, MO and we had about 5-6 Capri's show up. I expect 5-10 this year or more, hopefully more. I am trying to communicate with Dean (SCCA Race Car Capri) and a few other owners in that area for another scenic meeting place. I can't, for the life of me remember what the name of the park was that we gathered at last year. It would be a little drive for you, but Mark Hendricks is from up close to Chicago and made it last year. I'm thinking possibly an afternoon at Worlds of Fun also.

Not to mention, I'm from the Chicago area (Island Lake) and I plan on coming down. Hope to bring 2 cars with me, but we'll see. If Ya want ,Capri303, I could meet you somewhere near Chicago, and we can "Caravan" to the meet!

We could do that. 2 Razzi Capri's cruising! I just don't want to be driving all day to get there. I work Monday - Friday, 8 to 5. If the meet is Saturday I guess I'll be driving all night Friday.

Haven't figured out details yet. And I hate to disappoint you, but the Razzi-kitted car probably won't be going. It got smacked up a couple months ago, and she is still sitting in the barn, waiting for some attention. But I still hope to bring at least 2 Capri's!

So who's a go so far for the meet at the end of June in KC, MO? I'm trying to spark interest so we can all make our plans.
Another time we could meet before then, I know Dean with his SCCA Capri race car will be racing down close to Glenwood NE at the Mid America Motorplex I think in April which is coming up real fast! I will be down there regardless but I'm inviting anybody else down there to cheer him on and see what his car is all about. I will get specifics posted when I have them.

Would anyone be interesting in having a meet in Indiana somewhere? Somewhere like Indy or north... I'd like to meet up with some other Capri owns, but I don't want to drive all the way to Missouri. Depending on who wants to go we could even meet around Chicago or Southwest Michigan. Just wondering...

Hey what about Cedar Rapids? 400 miles isn't really that far but if anybody would want to meet there instead in August...pwweeease. I don't know how set you are guys are on that location is why I am proposing it. I hope that you guys can return the favor and make it to the KC, MO meet that I put together? I hope to have my cloth top and my Konigs put on before either meet. Ohhh this is getting me exited...

OK this meet is coming up quick. I have about 5 confirmations through the Yahoo Capri Group. A few guys will be traveling about 7-9 hours to get there so that's some dedication if you ask me. YES of course! My XR2 is by far a show car. Fast yes, show no. I am really surprise at how many people are going to be showing up. Maybe bigger than the 3rd Annual meet in Freeport, which I am still seeing if I can attend. About 10 interested parties including Dean and his SCCA Capri have confirmed the trip.

I'll probably go to the Freeport gathering. Cedar Rapids is a looooooong drive fron Kankakee, Illinois. As many times as I've had to go to MAM with the race bikes, I have nightmares of Iowa deer in the night!

Alright, whoever is coming at the end of this month to the KC meet I would start making hotel reservations and not wait till the last minute. I'm terrible about that. (http://smile.gif) More than likely we will be at least meeting and having lunch at a local Sonic and then we will have our drive from there. I will probably be going to Worlds of Fun on that Sunday unless we all want to meet up again which might be fun to find another place to have a good cruise.

I think around 12 noon will be the meeting time at the Sonic, but it's tenative because some people are driving a good distance. Positively it will be around 11:30-1:00 though. I will be posting this info up on my Capri site also.

Ok so far it looks like I'll make it. So those of you that are planning on getting a hotel. What nights are you reserving? I can only afford 1 night, and I have a 10 hour drive, so I'll be sleeping in the car one night for sure. So which should it be Friday or Saturday.

I will be staying Saturday night for sure. Depending on rates I can get from a friend I might be staying Friday also. But if you are only staying one night, stay Saturday night.

Cory, I was reminded this weekend why I can't make it to the rally next weekend. It is my grandma's 98th b-day. This is special because you see, my grandma, at 98, lives alone, cooks and cleans for herself, and has to walk up a flight of stairs to get to her apartment, and has a mind that is as sharp as a tack. My dad has to call her to remember things. How is that for incredible. I love my grandma.

The feds came in and bugged the beauty shop he ran, in New Jersey. His clients were the very cream of "the Families". Bills favorite clients were the old women, These women knew secrets that only their husbands know. And boy do women love to bitch when the opportunity presents itself. Bills job, besides orally gratifying 89 year old grey haired women dressed all in black, was to make sure that he ran a place that was condusive to making the old broads talk. Which was ironic, because it seems that bill couldnt talk after servicing his client.
Oh it was a big to do for a while, the trial lasted for years, and Billiam went into the witness protection program. First as Billamena, "The ugly stripper" Then there was "Willamena" (Bill don't seem to have much imagination with names does he) And I was just wondering how the re-attachment went.
My Grandpa, (God rest his soul) served in Korea with Bill. He said that Bill "collected feet" I thought that was a bit wierd.
He's back to Bill again, and runs an extremely strange shoe store, there have been more freak accidents at that place then anywhere in the world.
His brother, Englebert owns a prosthetics factory. Specializing in womens feet.

The above is an example of what happens when you stay up late while on pain killers and muscle relaxers. Sometimes what we write the night before does not quite fly the next day. But I must admit. It's almost worth it just for the phrase "Billimena "The Ugly Stripper"".

We had about 4 show up last year, and we have about 6-8 that have "confirmed" their exsistence, so we'll see. You really never know how many people will be there until it happens, you know how it goes. I am still looking at going to yours, but I dunno yet.

Well, the meet was a success. Unfortunately more people didn't make it though. I think there were 5-6 Capris there, which isn't too bad for the second year I don't think. I think Al Petrusky will be helping me host it next yea in Topeka. His wife's parents live there and there is a lake and probably will be having a big bar b q out there too. Thought I took more pictures than I did but I guess I got so caught up in the moment ... the pics fell by the wayside. Had a lot of fun ... got lot's of information ... and it was waaaaay cool to see 5 Capri's darting in and out of traffic. Hope the weather holds out for the Rockford meet!

Speaking of the Freeport/Rockford meet, I'm not sure where you are in East IA, although this is way ahead right now, since I'll be traveling through IA to get there is there anybody else that I could pick up coming through and we could drive in together? Just checking....

Maquoketa is halfway between Dubuque and the Quad Cities. If you plan to use Highway 20 I could meet you in Dubuque ... if you plan to use Interstate 80 I could meet you in the Quad Cities. The Quad Cities has a couple Capri owners that get together so there may be the potential of picking up 3 or 4 for the caravan there. And if Tom gets all those parts out of the back of his truck and on his car .... you could pick him up in Des Moines!! (http://smile.gif)

OK Scott, it's official, I will be going to the Rockford meet! When it gets a little closer we can make plans to meet on the way there and "caravan" to the race track. Now to find a hotel close to the area. I will consult Dr Bob for that.

Personally, I would be wary of any hotel dr bob takes you to.
After all, what do we really know about "dr bob"
What kind of dr calls himself dr bob
And is he really a dr?
Where did he get his degree?
Does he offer little kids at bustops a piece of candy and a ride in his most beautiful capri?
Does he flash his 3 nipples?
These are the questions I would ask before booking a hotel room with dr bob.
PS- get soap on a rope, hang the rope round your neck.
This way you CANNOT drop the soap in the shower.
