It's possible but going to be tough putting the power down in the corners. Get some nice struts & lower the car, sticky, wider tires, an LSD in the trans will probably help out the most though.

What's the Miata got done to it?

Hey, Rocket ...

LSD, "limited slip differential" ... since we're front-wheel-drive ... should that all get done at once?  Like, if I were to have a tranny shop do my 5th gear swap, should I save up to get it all done at once?

And, what LSD's are appropos?

There's only one LSD... and there's a sticky thread in the XR2 section with info on it. ( http://teamcapri.com/capri-gi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=4;t=000203 )

The 5th gear swap is simple & can be done in car in an hour or two without any real special tools. The LSD install requires complete teardown of the trans & should probably be done by a shop. You could DIY it if you have a press to do the bearings & willing to check the preload on the diff. Either way the trans has to come out of the car for the LSD
