I'd be suspicious...they don't list a brand. I've always believed in "You get what you pay for"

I'd be a little wary of them too. Maybe worth picking up at that price, anyway.

Let me know how those work if you would.  I'd like to lower my car, but can't afford the more expensive springs...

They have a one year warranty if something goes wrong, and the most common drop springs for our cars are all the 1.5" inch units.  More then likely they found a cheaper way to make them.

Worst case scenario they just make them out of lower quality metal or not nearly as many coils as there should be.  If you're looking to lower without worrying about performance, and just looks, these sound like the business.

HAH!

H&R's are made in Germany. Whitelines are made in Australia. Ground-Control uses Eibach springs which are also german made.

What's linked here is almost certainly made in China.

And the number of coils isn't really a defining factor. The H&R's have almost 2x the stock coils, but they're also progressive rate. One half of the spring compresses easier than the other half.

The stock picture provided shows a progressive rate spring, but, it's a stock picture. The auction doesn't state any specific info other than it provides a 1.5" drop...

I contacted the seller, and he says they have a US supplier for them.

US supplier, does not mean the product was built in the united states.  I'd give them a shot though, like you can see on it's page they have a warranty for a year, and I haven't seen drop springs ever offer a warranty.

I bought a set of these. But, I have been searching for any deals on the shocks (their not cheap).  I plan to install myself.  My car has about 75000 miles, so I think the original shocks are in car.  Can anyone advise on the best strut and where I can get it for a decent price.  Also, should I go ahead and order new mounts and bushings, or remove and inspect the condition before?

Tokico HP struts are probably the best strut readily available for the Capri right now. They are not cheap, a set of four will run $350-400+shipping.

KYB GR2's are a little stiffer than OEM, they're cheaper than the Tokicos, but I really wouldn't call them a "performance" strut, but they are better than OEM options

Gabriel, Monroe, etc. all OEM struts, cheap but not "performance".

Strut mounts, that's up to you. These items add up quickly. Personally, I'd inspect them & re-use if they're still good - the rears probably won't be worn at all, they don't see much action. The fronts will dry-rot and crack, and the bearing in them will dry up & start to grind.

Rockauto.com has some decent deals on strut mounts if you do decide to go new.

I removed the strut assembly (from rt rear). I am having hard time removing the center nut. (I'm trying to save the mount and rubber).  I drilled a slot in my work bench, struck the tab coming out from upper spring seat into it, then sprayed threads with wd-40, used a breaker bar. but nothing just frozen.  Does anyone have any ideas how to loosen? Should I make some kind of jig? or maybe now is the time to buy impact wrench? thanks again

It should not be even near that hard to remove unless it's rusted on there. The shaft of the strut is keyed into the mount with a slot, so it keeps it from spinning. The nut should come free though. I usually break them loose in-car first, and then remove for dis-assembly
