Phillip, Rocketman and all. The timing was the problem for the most part. The timing was not set right by ford service because the camshaft was off because of the worn key and key way. However service installed a new key and it is holding firm but off center with the cams so I put a rod down the spark plug hole to get TDC while holding the cams in place by myself and installing the belt. It DID make a LOT of difference in resolving the idle and terrible acceleration problem. However I ordered a Cam Clamp Universal Timing Gear Locking Tool which will be hear monday so that I can re-time it more accurately. The vacuum part I ordered is still not here, but the reseting of the TDC made a huge difference. It actually has some acceleration now and a much better idle.
