Water in the passenger footwell
« on: September 17, 2022, 09:44:06 AM »

Two days ago, the first heavy rain in southern Germany, Car was outside....first time since years....

I was shock, the passender footwell was totally wet.

Nothing could be seen on the top or the A-pillar, even the door panel was dry.

Where could the water be coming from? Any typical places?

Have you checked the water drain funnels for blockages? They live in the soft-top stowaway tucked in the corners closest to the engine block. When I got my Capri these were clogged and it caused several inches of standing water in the interior.

Also check under the dash cowling, near the intake for the outside hvac air. This can back up into the interior via the hvac system

Thanks for the message. I'm not sure where are those drain funnels are located. Could you give me more details? I attach a few pictures

Only at the passenger footwell was water.

This morning rain, after 2h i check the passenger footwell. Water drops near the fan, under the passenger dashboard.
How can you fix this? Which drain is blocked?

Inside the cowling, up against the firewall, there is a caulked seam, check that. You will also see the air intake in this spot

@Rocketman

below a picture from inside. The inlet is a few centimeters above the firewall bottom.
The space to work at this inlet is very limited, what to do now? Where does  the water come from? The white pin on top?
