Do you know of any golf courses or driving ranges in the area? I'm bringing my father with me under the condition that he'll be able to hit a bucket or putt a couple holes.

(i have to agree cause he's got $$ which I lack at the moment)

For those of you who are staying the night in Freeport, you had better get your room reserved now.  After today the block of rooms I reserved will be gone, and taken by others.  The hotels are real busy that weekend, and was only able to find a block of rooms at the super 8.

There is mini golf at the park we will be picnicing in, and a city golf course (Im sorry I can't give more info on the golf, I don't golf)

Bob -

Are you leaving some sort of directions to dinner Friday night and to the park on Saturday (or is the park close to the Speedway?

This would be my first time in Freeport.  I've lived in downstate Illinois for 8 years, but once I get north of I-80, I'm just another Rhode Island Yankee.

For everyone who has sponsored this years event, please get me your name or logo within two days so they can be embroidered on a t-shirt.  Also give me the sizes

Since no sponsors (except 1) has contacted me about the name on t-shirts, I guess that means they don't want it done.

whenever you want to leave is ok.

Three days until the largest gathering of Cpari Convertible Enthusiasts in the WORLD.

I have been looking for a restraunt for us to meet in, but they are all booked (and have been for months) so my plan is to meet at the Pizza Hut next to the Super 8.  For those of you who are coming and don't know how to get there, use mapquest.

The Super 8 address is 1649 Willard Dr.  Freeport, IL.  You will see the Pizza hut is approx 60 feet away from the motel.  For those of you who need directions to the race track.....use mapquest..... go to www.rockfordspeedway.com  for the address.

Please gas up before you go to the racetrack, because we will not be stopping for gas on the way to Freeport.

Since there were not enough people getting rooms, the visitors bureau will not be putting gift baskets in the rooms.

At the picnic, there will be hamburgers & brats.  Also potato salad, macaroni salad, pop, and water.

At the race track there will be water available (for $1.00 per bottle)

This years event will be a much scaled down version of last years.

We welcome everyone, and admission will be $50 at the door.  This will cover track time and picnic.  And if you don't want to go to the picnic, and just run on the track, the admission will be $50.

The weather looks to be great.  It is supposed to get up in the 90's, with party cloudy skies.
