I just got back for this years national event, The Mid-America Capri gathering.  we had 16 cars show up despite the weather forcast.

the rain held out until we all departed the pizza hut.  I can't tell you how cool it is to see so many capri's in one place.

I'm still trying to figure out how yuri's rust bucket got best 1991.

Thats not it.  It began as a tie, Yuri's rust bucket vs elwoods tricked and clean 91.  Did you know that his seats are heated?  how cool is that?  But then there was a re-vote, and Yuri won.  completely baffled me.

Hey Anthony, would you make it next year if we made it a two day event?  meet greet friday night, do nascar track in morning, afternoon picnic, early evening a drive, band and fireworks., the next day nhra track, drive, hog roast, awards? with various activities inbetween?

The reason I'm asking is, a few of us have been wondering if it would be worth while.  Yoou see, we would need to have an awful lot of cars to show up to make it worth while.  People would have to drive from longer distances to get here.  would all of that be enticing enough to bring you, the creator of this fine website, you with the sweet blue 94, you?

Becaause I'm sure if you would be willing to make the trip, people from similar distances would be willing to make the trip also.

Ya... I have heated seats, auto dimming and lighted rear view mirror, fog lamp modification and a lot less rust, but Yuri's a hell of a lot faster.  It was lots of fun.  I enjoyed meeting everyone.  Thanks to Shirley for guiding me to Denny's and to George for the radio and steering wheel.  You all were awesome and I really felt welcome.  Let see some pic's!!!  I would love to attend next year if my old rag is still running then.  Oh,  hey Bob,  I like the custom Capri and the matching attire.  What a great time!!!!!

hmm bob, I would think about it, I would probly turn it into my own week vacation, 2 days not enough for me. vacation time would be needed. I know this last month i been trainin 16 new employees, so I havent had time for my own birthday that past.

totally do a multi-day thing, that would be so much fun. anyway, i have rust all over the car, mis-aligned wheels, leaky car (don't we all?) and a dirty engine bay. however i was the only car there with a RocketChip, that's how i won

Glad to hear everyone had a great time.  This is the first MACG that we have missed in 5 years, and I am extremly disappointed we couldn't make it.  While you all were  playing with our oversized Hot Wheel cars, I got to pump 4 1/2 feet of water out of our crawlspace. Seems that in the last couple of days, with all the rain we've had, the sump pump went out.  The water got so high, that it flooded our vents, and caused an undetermined amount of damage.  I have to get the water out before I can get down there and examine everything.  Kind of tough, since we have gotten almost 5 inches of rain in the last 24 hours!  I'm barely keeping up with it!

Please, post as many pictures as you can, I want to see what we missed!

hey everyone uhh yeah my first capri gathering was a blast despite the weather ( got best 1992 ) thats pretty cool . ste you should really make it out next year would be nice to see that nice capri !! i totaly agree we should do a 2 day thing with the whole hog roast ect and stuff just dropping buy to tell everyone imm home safely since i drove the farthest 600 miles and MUST SEE PICTURES!!!!

Just a note to say thank you to Shirly and all who where involved in the Capri Gathering....   Even with the rainy weather, we had a great time.  We made it home safe and sound late last night.  When I have a few minutes later today, I will try to add some pictures for everyone to see.

Dr Bob,  I think a two day gathering for next year - sounds awsome!!!!  If you need help with a certain task, let us know.....   It would be nice if we could set the weekend date by the end of the year, so those who need to take vacation time can get it scheduled in....
