Title: need lower control arm bolt/pin
Post by: keyfoot on April 02, 2014, 02:32:31 PM
Howdy. Well I bent my driver side rear lower control arm, the adjustable one, and one of the bolts

There is two 8 1/2 inch bolts that hold the control arms together and in place, and I bent the one closest to the wheel, had to cut it out.

I'm having a hell of a time finding a replacement, found the lower control arm but not the bolt, can't find a suitable replacement at local hardware shops either.

Anyone have one, or know where I can get one?

Or know a suitable substitute?

Need it asap, its my only veichle

Do you have a Mazda dealer local to you? Those lower bolts suck.

FWIW those are lateral links back there, control arms are up front

Matt -

I'd be willing to go pull those bolts off the 88 tracer, if those would work.  (I don't need much of an excuse to run over to Pull-a-Part!).  What do you think?  I could overnight em to keyfoot.

That? Would be amazing,   so the tracer's will work?   How much to have you get that for me?

I think its the same chassis so I'm guessing it might work.  I don't know if its interchangeable w the XR2.   Waiting to see what Matt (Rocketman) has to say.  Pullapart.com has their part pricing in a drop down menu.  Im guessing they'd charge the price for the sway bar link/pin ($3.90).  I figure I'd drop the part and the receipt in the mail to you; you can send me back the cost of the part and postage.  Gives me an excuse to turn a wrench at a junk yard.

The tracer has drum rear, the bolts may be the same though. Not sure. They're a bear to remove in most cases

Mazda dealer will be able to help you for sure, for 88 323 turbo sedan, that had rear disk brakes.

Sending of your compensation tomorrow.
