Title: Roo-Sport.com
Post by: CapriTypeR on March 14, 2010, 05:38:00 PM
After a couple years of trying, I am finally geared up to make Roo-Sport.com a REAL website! It is being built as I type, from the ground up.
I would like some input from everyone on this forum. If you could all take a minute and answer a few questions......:

1) What do you require in a parts website?
2) What would you like to see?
3) What do NOT want to see?
4) As a consumer, what would be the most helpful to you?

I will submit all responses to the team building the site.  The site will be fully functional by mid-May at the latest, and may be up a lot sooner than that.
Thank you guys, in advance, for the input!!

This website is really set up nice...
http://www.machv.com/ (http://www.machv.com/)

Having a "how to build your capri" section would help tons...and it give you a chance to "sell" your products..Rocketman can get his chips in..

I have always liked there set up..prices are another story..but awesome information

good stuff the site will be. R u going to carry both new and used items? Custom items, such as your things like your hood, maybe some performance item, for the spirited fellows who like to run a little faster than stock? (I just love that "spiritedly" I htink it was josh or someone who said that word!!! LOL

Kelly-
I will have used parts and new parts if I can find suppliers. We will also have custom parts, and upgrades. I plan on offering upgraded exhaust kits, upgraded brake kits, Upgraded turbo kits, RocketChips and things like that.
Once we get production going, my hood, Australian style Bubble top, wing, XR2 sideskirts, HalfSprint tail light panels, and yes, even a full ClubSprint kit will also be offered.
I also plan on having a way for you guys to sell your extra parts through the site.
It'll take some time to get completely built the way I want it, and to start with, it will be a basic parts site. However, it will be constantly added to, and as I get suppliers lined up and parts built, more and more items will be added.

I plan on having the site up and running by May/June. It is being built right now, so we have time to work out bugs and to make sure everything is smooth and operational by my deadline.

Hey Russ, looks like you are building it on Joomla?  Make sure you make all the necessary security updates to protect the site.  Just took one time for me to fix the security flaws it has in stock system form.

I run Joomla for my main page www.tunerfixx.com (http://www.tunerfixx.com) but my store www.tunerfixx.com/store, (http://www.tunerfixx.com/store,) is a shopping cart suite.
