I'd been planning on running a Cusco fwd 323 rear strut tower bar to get rid of the squeaks coming from the gutted trunk (along with no back seat and no carpet) because it gets fairly annoying. Yesterday I actually opened the trunk and noticed that a 323 bar is NOT going to work, there's some sort of structural support for the convertible compartment in the way. What other options are there? I've never seen any sort of rear stur tower bars anywhere.

That structural support in the way IS your rear strutbar (http://smile.gif) The capri has an integrated one.
The rear struts are only 2-bolt anyways so you wont have much for a mountpoint

That makes sense. Is there any way to stiffen up the rear to stop the damn thing from squeaking?

Hey 1992! Have you checked all your suspension bushings and if solid then a squirt of silicone spray at every bushing should help with the noise. Gus.

No, I hadn't thought of that, I'll give it a shot when it gets warmer out....-1 tonight.

ive got that in cabin squeaking too, but i dont think its suspension related.
it actually sounds like chassis flex =o
