I have a n/a BP motor from a kia sephia, can it be converted into the bpt? or something close to it? kinda wanna do the engine swap :)
-
Is that a BP05? I think the Kia engines were a little different but usable.
True BPT has different cams, rods, pistons, etc but you can easily throw a JDM BP26 manifold on there and boost it as is- that's what I did with my BP. I'll eventually be putting stronger rods and pistons in it

Will that be ok with the stock cr Of that motor? It has electronic ignition. Does that mean that its time for a megasquirt or just swap the harness and everything? I own the KIA as well

I am running 10-12psi on the stock BP CR I think it's 9:1 or 9.4:1? No problems. I am running it with XR2 electronics
The Kia was OBDII wasnt it? That would be a hell of a mess to swap into the Capri. I'd source an Escort/Protege harness, ecu, distributor, etc and use that - comparatively easy to wire in. Unless you're really up for an adventure
Megasquirt would let you keep the electronic ignition.
This question might get more detailed answers at ClubProtege, they are much more knowledgeable on the different flavors of BP
