Well, I got to spend about 6 hours working on the car today. Got the alternator belt put on, and was able to install the new roll bar. I'm not sure if I'm happy with it yet, but it is all mounted. Now I just need to dis-assemble, paint the brackets, get all stainless steel hardware to replace what we used today, then re-assemble. Many thanks to Joe (RCI Customs) for the inspiration!!

i like them but there is no way i could put them behind my seats. i have them all the way back.
-
I thought we would have to settle between one or the other, but guess you proved that wrong.
Looks great man!
-
Thank you!! I'm not totally happy with it yet, but I am always to critical of my own work. Once I get it 100%, I'll shoot some more pictures.

looks like your gonna have to tweak the bars some. they are not lining behind the seats right. so it looks off, on top of it not being as safe, since they are support to protect around that shape, and your sitting outside of them. im with ghost, i sit so far back in my seat i touches the roadster top hehe. would never work for me.
-
wonder if you could maybe cut out the front of the top and set them inside there. then it would be like the bars were part of the cover. i might like that.
-
Either way, it looks very good. I don't know how much you could really tweek it since its already not made for our car.
I'm looking forward to getting mine, this just makes it worse hah
Now if only I could find one of those sweet wingggs hah (http://graemlins/rock.gif)
-
It looks good but a.... when I drive I put my seat all the way back....your cramping my style damn it!!! LOL Love you, good job!!!
-
Anthony-
The bar is perfectly centered - look at how it lines up with the cover. It's the seats that are off. The drivers seat is almost 3/4 inch in more than the passenger seat. I didn't notice until I put the bars on!
I've also been thinking of cutting the cover and putting the bars farther back, but I'm undecided. I'm 5'10", and there is plenty of room behind the seat.
As far as the safety aspect - I put this on more for looks than anything else. If I get added safety, it's a bonus.

-
You guys talk about safety and then you talk about driving with the seat all the way back.
Lol.
-
i think it would look sweet as hell if it was cut into the top.
is that the modified maita bar?
i might give it a try if i can find a good body person here that i can trust
-
it be nice if they made a set of bars that formed over the humps of the roadster top. that be sweet.
-
I had originally planned on doing a bar that would go over, and conform to, the curves on the cover. I still may, but this will work until then!
--Russ
-
looks good , the bar sits directly between the seat belt bolts.... my wife is 6'1" and she drives my car with the bar in place on mine...
she also has a 37" inseam and still seems to fit all that leg in there ok... so i dont think that it keeps yall from putting the seat back enough
... if it does, you need to take that sean john crap off and put your seat where it goes...LOL
-
And the modding continues............
The car is currently up on a rack getting a whole new exhaust put on: cat has been removed, 2 1/2" tubing runs the full length of the car up to the Magnaflow muffler. From there, full 2 1/2" tubing is split in two directions for the dual exhaust look, and topped off with 2 Magnaflow dual round stainless tips!
Pictures when I get them!

hope u fixed ur frame rail while it was up there
-
Hey Russ! Yuri has a point! In the photos your driver's side frame rail looks bad. Is it as bad as the photos show? Gus
-
It is bad, but not yet as bad as his! The other side is rotting as well. I have access to a lift anytime I need one, so fixing it while it was in the air this time wasn't necessary. Big decisions have to made as to wether or not this car will get fixed, or a rust-free donor car will get all of the Super Roo's parts.

-
looks good. i would go with the rust free swap..should be easier to do then repairing all that rust.
-
OK, here's a few photos of the finished product. Also, the link to the YouTube video of the car at idle is here:

Very Nice Russ!
-
wow that sounds very nice !! very jealous wish mine sounded as nice as your.
-
Thanks guys! I will try to get a video posted tomorrow of the car under full throttle. It's friggin' loud!

-
on your hood do those vents make any kind of difference in heat or air flow ?
-
They work for heat evacuation. When the fan kicks on, you can really feel the heat being pushed out through the holes. That and they look cool!
--Russ
-
good cuz my car is starting to run little hot and need some ways to help keep this baby cooler its starting to get hot
-
I uploaded another clip of the new exhaust. I was by myself, so it's not exactly what I wanted, but it'll work for now!
All comments and questions are welcome!

id rather see a video of your old muffler farting out it's crap repair job because someone didn't read the directions and cut the strips too short....
lol just kidding (http://smile.gif)
-
I would have posted that, but you were to busy laughing to grab a camera!
I can, however, prove that the strips were actually long enough, but not strong enough, to contain the huge rush of gases from such a powerful engine:
