drbob, how are we doing with the registrations? I'm delinquent on my registration but will also send the extra money for the tagging cards that I promised you last winter. hope to see everyone in July and spend the entire day with my fellow Carpi owners.

I am curious as to how many of you who havent registered plan on coming to this years Event?  It would be good to know these things for planning purposes.

Also I asked about hotel preferences, and got virtually no response, so I will pick.  Tomorrow I will get a block of 10 rooms at the super 8.  I will find out the cost then.

The person who does our T-Shirt design has not submitted a design.  Also, there are less people than last year registered, so there will be no T-shirts.  There will however be emroidered Event Hats.  (they are quality hats, not cheap mesh truckers hats)

For those of you staying overnight at the hotel in freeport, our visitors center will be giving small gift baskets.  Also the morning of the event, there will be coffee and donuts provided by the center.

If there is anything I forgot or you would like to see, please let me know.

For those of you who think it's too long of a drive, we have registrations from PA, AR, TX, NM.  So if you are closer than those, you have no excuses.

I'd love to come, but it all depends on another trip I'm scheduled to go on.  I may or may not be back in time for a journey to Rockford in light of that.  However, I'm going to try my best as that track is sooo tempting and I'd really like to meet many of you guys.

Since Bob says we have less than last year, I'd like some insight from those that are not returning this year.  WHY NOT?

Terri
The reason I am not attending is my wife made plans for that weekend before the Capri date was announced and we are unable to change them.

Registrations are in, there are a lot of first timers coming, and I am suprised by how many people who last year said they would be coming back, are not coming back to make the trip this year. (I would appreciate some insight to this) We do have some long distance travelers this year.  Walt will be driving back up from New Mexico.  We also have first time registrations in from AR, PA, and TX.

Today I will be getting our motel information.  The city's visitor center will be giving gift baskets to those staying at the hotels, and coffee and donuts at the center on the morning of the event.  Also there will be an informal gathering at a local restraunt on friday night and a movie at a drive-in theater on saturday night for those interested.

Since there are less people coming this year, there will be no t-shirts, but there will be Event hats.  These are quality hats with nice event embroidering on them.  I just don't have the money to pay for them this year like I did last year, I hope you understand, and are not too disapointed.

For those of you who ordered x-tra t-shirts, I will refund your money, or give back $10 and give an extra hat.  Please let me know which you prefer.

If you would still like to come, you can register at  www.caprigathering.com

HERE IS THE HOTEL INFORMATION::

SUPER 8
Phone # 815-232-8880.
Group name: Mid-America Capri gathering.
Address:  1649 Willard Dr.  (for those of you who want to mapquest, or use your navigation)

The Amerihost has a jehova's witness convention, and I figured you would not get any sleep due to having your door knocked on all night.
Just a joke, I'm kidding, but when I thought of it, I laughed.

Also those of you who want to sponsor, your help is still greatly appreciated.  be sure to send me your money, and logo so they can be embroidered on our Event hats.  (please do it soon)

Those of you who have something they want to add to the event, or the B.O.C. please send them to me as soon as possible.

The event date is getting very close.

Its a shame there arent more people going. I'm really struggling to make ends meet enough to get me there this year - I'm about ready to put the engine back together but I need to scrounge money for a gasket set.

C'mon people! If I'm gunna make it than anyone can!
