Adjustable cooling fan switch?
« on: December 04, 2009, 07:49:00 AM »

I know these cars tend to run hot but I have a question.

First, I changed the stok thermostat to a 180 thermostat. Was the a good move or should I go to the 190?

Second, my fan kicks on at 225 degrees, with the new thermo, the difference in temp is even higher. I have an adjustible fan relay kit. Should I put it in and have the fan turn on at a bit higher than 180? Also, where is the switch/relay/sensor located that turns the fan on?

Thanks

several of us are running the fan all the time with no ill effects. show u exactly how to do it.

i run a 175deg switch in my sons supra that works great. wired it off the battery instead of the normal set up. that way when he shuts the car off it will still cool down the engine

i run a 160 degree thermostat ( only a summer car ) and run the fan all the time... i am contemplating on getting a bigger radiator out of boredom but as of right now i would drive my car "Hard" and temp gauge would never go over 175 :)
