Long time reader first time poster.

I own 6 vehicles...2 of which are Mercury Capris.

1991 Capri XR2 Turbo Cardinal red that I am just starting on modifications

I started sanding on the body this past weekend and decided that I really want to clean up the body lines by shaving the door handles and fuel door.  I ordered a 2 door popper kit so I can shave handles and key lock and looking at purchasing a 8 to 10 gallon fuel cell to mount in the trunk of the 91.  My question is has anyone done this already and know A) what rating fuel pump is required to feed fuel to the engine and B) if they have a wiring diagram to wire up the tank and pump correctly?

I want to get the engine running properly off the fuel cell before welding the filler door shut.  I also plan to remove the fuel tank, straps, and filler neck to alleviate a little weight.

If anyone has already installed a trunk mounted fuel cell was any additional bracing needed to support the 60-80 pounds of weight with the full capacity cell using 6 pounds per gallon of fuel as an estimate?

Welcome to the family. Remote door handles and truck have been done. This should help with your wiring.

TechCapri has one also, but I found this one first.

Good luck.
