Hello,
I just purchased a 1991 Capri non turbo that the previous owner hooked a battery booster backwards to the car with the ignition key in the "ON" position.
He thinks it "Fried" the electrical system.
When I put a battery in correctly the car will start and run for just about 1 second. If I turn off the key and try again it will do the same. However if I try to crank again without turning off the key if won't start.
I have been looking around the forum and I see people referring to a VAF. What is that and where is it located?
Is it possible that this got burned out by the voltage going backwards?
Also where is the main ECU?
And lastly, can these parts work from another 1991 Capri that is Turbo? I have access to one and I could swap some parts.
Thanks very much for the help!!
Guy
