Generic knockoffs of real BOV's seem to work pretty well. TurboXS RFL, Greddy type RS, HKS's SSQV, ect. I recommend the SSQV I am running a knockoff right now and it works very well.

Do BOVs work okay with our metered air?

Yes. The factory BOV's are not strong and hold open at idle causing a massive vacuum leak and stalling. The car will not run with it open.

Bosch made a stronger type used on DSM's that can be run open. It would be close to bolt-on.

What if you put a check valve in line with the stock bpv to keep it from pulling air in?

If you could find a large checkvalve then that might work, but with the price of BOV's I dont think its worth it. The stock valve also doesnt hold up well to 16psi so you'll eventually want to replace it anyway
