Cold Air intake and exaust ??
« on: March 30, 2009, 01:35:00 PM »

First of all this is my first post here.  I am the proud owner of a 1992 Capri. It has 72k miles on it and is it perfect shape. Paid 2000.00 cash for it had offers up to 7000.00 cash for it but said no. But now onto the the original questions....

How do you go about installing a cold air take and where is the best place to get one? And two i was looking at a two and a quarter cat back to a borla tip for the exhaust. And i was looking at bbk headers for the car.  Any one have any better suggestions? I am more than open to them, for I am not very familiar with the car and what is good and what is bad for it.

i made mine from parts at autozone.

see this post for pics
http://teamcapri.com/capri-gi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=6;t=000100

it cost me about 70 pucks for filter, pipes and hoses

as for exhaust. i am going to assume since you said headers that you have a non turbo. with that said you should be able to get one made for about 200.

Yeah it is a non-turbo for now... Found a t3 t4 on craigs list for like 400buck hks got all the goodies with it never been used. But when i get to that stage it will be long gone... I looked at the pics and well, I was very confused because your car is turbo mine is not lol... How would you install it on a non-turbo? been poking around the threads but most of the ones here are turbo. Found the BBK headers for around 200 and for the catback exhaust i am doing 2 and 1/2 inch borla tip and going to get a muffler proudly. after that I am just going to see where my money takes me. Rely want it turbo but have to walk before you run
