VAF adapter is a plate that goes over the filter side of the Vane Airflow meter to add a cone filter to your car.  Almost every single one of these will have to be drilled to fit a capri properly.  The JPipe is not neccesary, but if you're taking a large amount of the front apart, and he has any available, it's an affordable upgrade.

you already have a by-pass valve, which sends the surge back into the system. the blow off valve vents the surge pressure into the atmosphere. If you're going to be sending more pressure from your turbo, the stock bypass valve isn't really up to the task of handling more pressure than stock

any decrease in gas mileage is going to be from increasing the boost... or to be more specific, from you making the car go faster because it's more fun

If you're going to install a cone filter - you will need a VAF adapter, whether it be mine or a cheap ebay/autozone type. Mine are direct fit & don't require drilling.

The Jpipe would be a nice upgrade, but works best with other uprades like FMIC + exhaust as those are more restrictive than the stock Jpipe is. Currently I don't have any kits ready to go but I can upon request.

BOV itself won't decrease mileage, but if you drive aggressively (they are fun turbo cars!) you will notice it at the pump.

Behind the bumper. That's about the only place it will fit

I hope you took the bumper off and measured first.  Most intercoolers won't fit nicely in our cars, I'm pretty sure only shallow units with low widths fit.  I measured somewhere around 25 inches as about the max, with maybe 7 inches tall as a nice size, which would probably still require a decent amount of cutting.

Open air BOV will decrease gas mileage on a car tuned to recirculate the BOV.

The VAF/MAF depending on the type of car, will calculate the air and send it to the computer to dump the proper air/fuel mixture.

Once you start venting the air your mixture becomes rich, eventually causing gas mileage to decrease.

Have you read any of the 8 or 9 threads on here about people's installs? There's exact sizes posted, and little to no cutting needed. -__-

Jamie, did you notice an appreciable difference in gas mileage when you installed yours? I hadn't noticed any difference when I installed mine (on either of my XR2's I've owned)

Id actually at some point like to recirculate my SSQV knockoff. The noise is getting old, and a slight boost in mpg cant hurt either.

That, and run the VAF in a blow thru config.
