I want to go check this out, specially when mine is starting to go wrong. Owner told me he has replaced sparkplug and distributor. Sprayed the injector, still miss.  Miss = shake/vibrate?
What can it be? I like the fact it's an Auto.

Kinda curious why he thinks it's "one of the most desirable years of Capri...."

Get him down to $1000 and it would be a decent buy!

I don't know... buying a car with a known engine problem and you don't know the solution to that problem is a questionable thing to do, unless you just have to have a certain car no matter the cost or trouble (like a '68 GTO???)

An intermittent miss can be a simple fix, or be deep seated in (expensive) inner engine issues.  At least have the plugs looked at and have a compression test done.

I agree, $1000 could be a decent deal, IF the compression test looks OK.  I personally would rather buy a shabby car with a great running engine.  I see these all the time in the $1500 range...Chris

The miss could be something simple like a cap/rotor, plug wire, spark plug.

Bad/clogged fuel injector. Faulty wiring somewhere between the ECU and the injector.

Or it could be something more involved like poor compression, cracked intake/exhaust valve, partially blown head gasket etc.

Being that it's auto and has a miss that the owner doesn't seem to care about, I'd think $500-800 depending on the rest of the car & if not then move on

When the first words of an ad say SOLD AS IS, I'm betting the owner knows what is wrong and may or may not tell you all that he knows.

Good salesmanship is telling the truth, just not ALL the truth...Chris

yea, I backed out of it too.  I saw a red 94 in MN for $1,900OBO, i was a day late.  It was good condition too.

I'm gonna fix mine up and sell it. I will either get Auto or XR2 if it's gonna be stick.
