i found this part when i bought the car.. does anyone know where it goes

Looks like a hard trim piece for holding up another trim piece, I think that may be located behind the glovebox.

That piece goes to your boot cover where the soft top stores. Open the boot cover, and it goes right in the middle at the bottom of the cover. There are 3 bolts that go through it that hold the metal bow that the soft top catches on when it is up. At least I'm almost positive that's what it is.

Ya looks like the trim on the convertible cover. goes in the middle & pushing the top down a bit.
