Title: Bench testing window switch - ideas?
Post by: JimmyGermany on October 15, 2022, 06:53:23 PM
Gentlemen!

My driver side window has elected to stop working. Luckily, it decided to do this while fully up.

Since the car is now in hibernation, I want to get my ducks in a row for the fault finding and repair. I’ve got 2 replacement switches that I’d like to test some way before trying them in the circuit.

Anybody got a good idea about how to test them on the bench?
I don’t have a high tech shop, but I can muster up a constant current DC source and 2 DMMs.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers
James

Be expecially careful about bending the contacts. I had one that only needed cleaning and I managed to bend some of them in cleaning and am still trying to get it back to working.
