i bought a 91 capri xr only to find out the sprngs have all been cut when i had a left front blowout on the highway and learned all four tires were worn out onthe innermost part of the tire    so four new tires and desperate need of alignment later i need to find a set of stock springs all four i guess since they said all had been cut. anyone have any stocks laying around? or any ideas on where to find some cheap i am a student and single father so the tire purchase wiped me out    and at christmas too luckily had gotten most presents for the kids so at oleast there is some what of a happy ending  lol. thanks for any info you guys have. merry christmas.

This should help too, not sure if our cars use differing springs though, but these are pretty affordable; and technically should fit.  You'd use the hatchback rear springs obviously.

I don't know if the hatch springs would fit, I know the Sedan bits from the 323 GT are compatible.

I was told by Pat@ Midcounty that there are different spring rates between turbo & nonturbo -not sure if that's true, I don't think it would matter a whole lot

no not yet:( did not find any at roo sports. and honestly i am a mechanical idiot so not real sure how to look for any

I know Russ is a great source for parts, but I might also recommend trying to find some used parts.  I have been able to save a bundle by buying used parts using this website.

got new springs but cant get that dang top nut off any ideas?

You need to loosen that nut with it still on the car.  The hole is keyed and the strut mounts hold it in place.

thanks for the info it has been a slow process but i am learning how to do it faster just have one more rear to go but now i know i don't have to disassemble the back really to get it out just a few bolts jack it up and bam falls right out with a little wiggling.
