Matt and I just got back from southern Ohio, where there is a field with 48 Capris in it!  
We spent the weekend there in the field, and it was truly amazing!
The cars may all be gone soon, so if anyone sees anything they want, check the thread in the Yahoo Capri group for more info.

Hey Russ did you see any xr2 exhaust manifolds that looked solid? What all did that highly moded 91 have on it?Rocky

That highly modded Capri had a custom stainless exhaust manifold, Corksport GT25 Ballbearing turbo upgrade ($1300! when they still offered it) Corksport Downpipe, Frontmount intercooler. (all of which were mangled in the accident) I believe he said he was told it has a fully built motor as well, but no way of telling without ripping it apart...

Custom suspension... I would imagine a good clutch and flywheel too but again, there's no way to know right now. I have NO idea what ECU it ran - most of the good parts were pulled off.

Many of the parts in the engine bay were chromed, but are rusting/pitted/flaking from sitting in a field now. The entire wire harness was covered in split loom covers.

The paint job was a very subtle pearlescent white - it also had a Razzi bodykit that was held on with silicone caulk.

Regardless, I would love to know the history of the car.

That's about it!  He has all these cars, and the funny thing is he still has plans for all of them. I tried to buy some 94 bumpers, and he didn't want to do it, because then the car they would come off of would have no bumpers, and it would be an incomplete car. Never mind that these cars have been sitting in a field for who knows how long, ad that there is probably 4 complete tops out of all of those.  these things have no protection from the weather, animals, whatever.

The yellow Festiva is shot - its rotted through in multiple areas.

Yeah, you shouldn't have even went there, only set yourself up for disappointment. Every one of those cars is gonna end up crushed.

As you know russ, I am not a man of means (living on military pension).  Let tom know that they are for me and see if he can give me a good price.

Tom who?  These cars are owned by Dick Runyun.  He was the guy in Medaryville that was running around on the motorized cooler.
I'll tell him they are for you, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

shit like that really breaks my heart!! I just spent the last 2 weekends with my brother at a field here in WA looking through a batch of round the same number of opel gt's. Most had sat for so lon they were junk. A fellow had bought them all and was in the procceess of cutting them apart for parts. The price he said he paid for them was, I'm sure, a lie, but we got some parts that were needed for sure. Its just a shame to let them all go to the scrapper. Sob.
