Easy as pie. 10 minute job. 20-30 minutes drying. After you disconnect the cables, all you do is drill out the old socket, leaving a nice clean round hole. "Small hole." Buy a "push-in" springloaded halogen lamp holder from any electrical wholesaler or lightshop(commonly used for downlights). I used a high heat temp silicon/glue to hold the base onto the main assembly. Test how the lampholder fits in, nice and snug and then adjust the whole size if you need to accordingly by using the next size drill bit and so on....etc. I got the size 1st go. Easy to judge.
If you look closely around the sides, in the pics, you'll see its sorta puffy, white. Thats the silicon. I got excited though, you wont have to use that much. Thats it!
