Title: Trick to hardtop?
Post by: mrwislr on August 29, 2020, 03:13:10 PM
I was wondering if there was a trick to putting on the hardtop that I might be missing. I can't seem to get it to sit flush with the car body. It sits about a half an inch up off the body of the car and I can see the spacer of the back bolt when I'm inside the car.

I had that problem because I already had a bolt in the center hole.

Are you only using the back center bolt? There are 5 bolts that hold the hard top down.

Using all 5 bolts, but the center back had a bolt installed in the top cover so the center bolt on the top didn't have anywhere to go.

I wanna have come to understand, you can change the depth of the captive receivers bolts for the hardtop. I’ve had to adjust mine to make it fit just right.

it's the back spacer that doesn't seem to fit right and there doesn't seem to be away to adjust the depth of that

I'm considering abandoning the hardtop all together... I can't seem to get it to sit flush on the car.. the spacker located under the back window is completely visible from inside the car and there are tons of rattles and clanks that seem to be coming from the hardtop when driven... I'm not sure why it doesn't seem to want to fit down flush on the car.. i've tried many things to fix it.

Any suggestions?
