Down Pipe
« on: August 03, 2010, 11:30:00 AM »

Does anybody have a good down pipe.Mine needs replaced or repaired. My mechanic got my turbo out, a few busted studs etc. My exhaust side shaft is busted. Shaft play isn't really the right term for it.Think thats rebuildable,or should I just buy a good used from Russ, and send that with my VJ-11 parts to Dallas Turbo? I also need bango bolts, formed hoses etc. Probably go to midco for them, any advise would be helpful. This is getting expensive.Rocky

By down pipe do you mean the turbine elbow..the part that bolts to the hotside housing??? If so I have all those parts. The hoses you can do. Just take them to your local auto parts store and they can match the bends onother hoses and you can cut them to fit...do it all the time.

Clay I mean the pipe from the turbo to the catalitic converter.MIDCO has a 2.25 hiper one listed for 199.00. Thats the same as their stock one.It will add performance but it will also add 199 bucks. The hose idea is a good one.Thanks.Rocky

If the shaft of the turbo is busted it's a paperweight. If you have a full VJ11 you should be able to use the shaft from that. Dallas might have an extra shaft on hand, I've heard of them having some spare parts around, wouldn't hurt to send it out anyway. Otherwise you'll need a new turby.

Dallas turbo usually has very quick turnaround times, did they quote a timeframe for you?

ya, they are fast, the mail isn't. I went regular mail, insured. I saved myself enough for a couple gaskets vs priority or ups/fed ex. Speaking of needing gaskets you should hesr how thrilled my wife is with all this $hit. Rocky
