New Roof
« on: November 01, 2008, 12:10:00 PM »

I havnt been on as much due to my transition in finding a new job. I now have weekends off, so I have been spending more time on the capri, finaly.

Got the new roof done 2 weeks ago.

The following was also required when putting on the new roof, might be helpfull to those who might be thinking of doing it later on.

- Pivot arms; left & right
- Repairs to Foam ( I had no idea there was foam inside these roofs! LOL!)
- Elastic webbing
- Lower cables + cable pins etc.

The old one was in a disgracefull condition as you saw in my original pics.

Note: When the new roof does go on, your not allowed to put it down for at least 3 weeks. Not sure why, maybe to do with it stretching out or rather.

Cheers,

Spiro, did you do it yourself, or have someone else fit it?

Thanks

Rob

P.S. I attended the National Capri Muster in Canberra over the weekend - if you get the opportunity next year it was a good get together.

Hi Dennis,

Theres no specific brand. It is made by a fabric/vynil manufacturer. They specilize in convertible tops and seat re-trimming etc.
I'm going to get them to do the internals for me also.

Hi Slocs,

They did all the work for me, supply and fit.

Umm, what, who, where? National Capri what??? Dude, I didnt know there even existed a National Capri Muster? Damn, I would of went if I knew.
:-(

Spiro,

The National Capri Muster is organised by the ACT small ford club.  We had about 20 convertibles and 12 of the classic hatchback models.  It started on Friday night with a cruise around Canberra, then an observation run on Saturday morning, a show and shine in the afternoon and a trivia dinner/night.

On Sunday the guys then had an economy run.

It was my first muster (only had Raoul the Red Convertible since Feb), but I'll be back next year.

The NSW Capri Club also has a get together on Saturday the 16th in Parramatta park.  I'm going to head down and join up (if only for the Tee-Shirt!).

Info on the Capri muster and some photos are at http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/capriconvertiblesocialclub/

Cheers

I'd really like to have a T-shirt also.  If anyone going to the muster can pick up a XXL, please do and I will pay for it and shipping. Thanks
