Last year we had four cars (from four different states) at the first gathering and we are looking for alot more at the next. Last years event was held in August, and it started in Freeport IL, with a nice curvy backroad drive. We ended up in Galena IL. We are going to do the same this year, and probably plan for a few more stops this time.
I understand that going through quaint little antique shops is not for everyone, so there is gambling boats about 15 miles away.
I will post more information as time goes on.

Hey Bob
Lets have one in South Florida in the winter.
It's always top down weather here and you guys could use the sunshine about now.
-
Let's all meet in Detroit for Woodward Cruise - I hope you all know what it is..
-
Nope
South Beach
The scenery cant be beat!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like the idea of a cruise down southern Florida, altho my boss would never give me that much time off.Last summer I had to threaten them with choices, give me a week vacation or I either transfer, quit or call the union. Bill is right I neeeeed the sun cus I live north of Seattle and by Feb. I have lost the convertible tan and replaced it with Washington rust. I should find people for a north west capri meet.
-
Dave, you wouldnt like it here. lol
It cooled off today to 75, and of course sunny.
And could you guys keep your eyes on the road with all the distractions in south beach?
I want a capri meet, not a capri pileup.

Who else is a member of this site and in the northwestern part of the US? I’m up for a meet up here, unfortunately southern Florida is a long way from Evergreen Montana, but Seattle Washington is only about 6 hours away.

where is freeport i am in quincy i might have to join you this year

the dream cruise is more of a parking lot nightmare....i work for a company that provides stages and lighting for the cruise and there are so many people that woodward turns into a parking lot...too many cops and too many A**holes....the best place i think to have a gathering would be in chicago then drive Route 66 from chicago to what ever we want...i personally would like to drive the whole thing....and i know my baby would like to too....
if not that then i think the next best place would be at Henry Ford world head quaters in dearborn michigan....imagine taking photos infront of the "glass house"...they also have henry ford museum, green feild village, and the automotive hall of fame.....Just a thought....

Freeport is in northwestern Illinois, a half hour from Rockford Il, and a half hour from Monroe WI, and 45 mins from dubuque IA. I enjoy this area for drives because there is no traffic. no waiting in toll lanes, we drive blacktop back roads where the scenery is a delight, and the roads are curvey. Not a hurried city pace, but a relaxing midwestern pace.
-
I like Chicago and HFMGF idea..
-
