Auto transmission solenoid?

The capri has a habit of stalling out at stoplights.  the mechanic pulled some engine codes that may suggest a faulty solenoid within the transmission that does not allow the transmission to disengage when the car comes to idle stop?  Does that make sense?  He says that restarting after stall resets the solenoid so it will stay on idle.

That will do it.  Get the transmission replaced with a 5-speed while its getting worked on.

getting the gearbox replaced is not a guarantee that the engine will not stall. mine stalled twice, today ('94 n/a 5-sp)

I think that's happening to mine. Except,  every time I put it in drive it stalls out.

Could anyone tell me where the TCC solenoid is so I can unplug it to see if my issue stops? I think I may have tranny fluid all over it. My tranny had been puking fluid for a while. Maybe I can clean it up and my issue will go away?
