Finally ran though my first tank of gas and got 30MPG. Is this the common mileage for these cars?
Thanks, Jack Byrd

I get about 32 on the highway with my 93 xr2, on 205/50/15's on stock 3 spoke rims which effectively lowers the gear ratio a little for better mpg, 70 mph and below. The red 91 xr2 my daughter drives gets no better than 27 mpg... Chris

I just bought a 1991 xr2 and I seem to be getting just under 25mpg

Should be getting around 30 sometimes more on the highway. XR2's depends on stock/modified and how it's driven.
If your MPG's are low a tune up is in order. Air filter, O2 sensor, plugs/wires, cap/rotor, check your tires, alignment, & wheel bearings

Thanks for the info. I did all that except for the O2 sensor and alignment, I guess I'm getting what I should. It runs great, but does need an alignment. Need a bunch of knit picky little things and a left side window regulator and James Whitt is in Barbados. Gonna check into Escorts. Anyone who sells bits and pieces, Roo-Sport doesn't have the items I need.

My 93 N/A gets around 30 regardless of how I drive it !

I would like a little better, but I guess that's not bad.
