Radio speaker wiring diagram
« on: March 24, 2015, 11:46:33 AM »

I'm thinking about replacing the replacement radio in my race car and was looking at the wiring diagram and it looks like the wiring for each side is the same color front and rear.  If this is true, how do you know which is front and which is rear?

Thanks, Jack Byrd

This is a connector pinout.  The pin numbers go left to right, pin 1 is BLue/Yellow and pin 8 is BLue

BL/Y   Right Rear   Pin 1
BL/R   Right Rear   Pin 2

BL   Left Rear   Pin 6
BL/W   Left Rear   Pin 5

BL/Y   Right Front   Pin 3
BL/R   Right Front   Pin 4

BL   Left Front   Pin 8
BL/W   Left Front   Pin 7

That's interesting.  I guess I'll just have to hope the PO who installed the replacement radio kept the connector.

Thanks for the info, Jack

If your lucky they used an adapter connector which is readily available for today's stereos. I wish they had them 30 years ago. You can find them on Amazon and eBay plus almost any stereo shop. Even Wal-Mart sells them. No more splicing. Just plug and play.
